The meticulous attention to detail and requisite Campagnolo performance trickles down from the top end of the drivetrain range and is incorporated in every step of the design and construction of the Veloce groupset.

Fine Italian craftsmanship and expertise in construction methods make this an entry level group only for Campagnolo. Veloce means ‘fast’ in Italian and every component, from the power-shift ergopower commands to the super precise rear derailleur, are made for speed. So well built is this groupset that the speed and precision of Veloce will accompany you through as many granfondos, weekend rides and training sessions as your legs can handle.

Campagnolo Veloce Groupset Review:

Frame: The frame is the foundation for all the critical components. The BB92 and BB95 Eugineo profiles and steel, titanium, and aluminium are used to complete a frame that is up to the same rigorous and light standards as the Hero range. Super-strong for road use, the classic alloy construction is stout and has the power-shift group brakes and equipped with a top-quality carbon gold dropper, making grip a priority.

Pegs and teeth: The Veloce’s super-strong and refined design has a raked top front-end to allow for a taut but comfortable saddle height. Compression is tight using the included PowerBridge seatpost. The spot-on fit of the CS-Apex to BB92 using the V-Dry and spot-on seat post BB95 is impressive.

Fork: The compactly designed and compactly built Chris King design features Campagnolo’s carbon titanium alloy double-butted by Campagnolo.

Groupset: The Campagnolo Veloce 11-78D is built with groupset specialist Chris King’s ‘A-Class’ principle of offering 10-speed groupsets to complete a system of technical components that are easy to use, compatible, comfortable, and efficient. The groupset provides maximum precision and versatility for enduro and race days out on the trail. For the road and time trial disciplines, you can’t get much higher value. Campagnolo’s different derailleurs and cassette gridded for the SRAM Eagle/Dura Ace/R8000 groupset rounds out the complete system.

Why we like it: The adjustable rear derailleur socket is great value and competes with other top-end road-style alloy groupsets, while the standard baulkless on-the-fly system is versatile enough to share with the rest of your gears. Like other Campagnolo 11 speed groupsets, the Glide shifting is smooth and silent.

Campagnolo 26 Speed Double-Butted Frame

Campagnolo is an Italian brand that has been around since the early 1980s. One of its more successful models, the Super Record double-butted carbon frame, has been used by a number of European brands including Raleigh and Ridley.

Stiff but comfortable Schwalbe G-One CX tires, in a luscious shade of red, make the Race Face shell ‘teal’. Features include adjustable short cage and concave top tube.

Campagnolo EPS Suspension Fork

Campagnolo Apex Ellipse

A lightweight ALUXX fork is combined with the Campagnolo double-butted carbon post on the rear triangle, providing optimum performance and making the rear end as light as possible.

The elliptical carbon design allows the tubes to flex to counter the rebound force from the shocks for maximum control and comfort on rough terrain.

The same seatpost provides suspension on the flat top tube and a strong, simple design of the frame and fork.

⁂ ⁂ Campagnolo EPS Comp Front Derailleur

Because Campagnolo’s cut-rate budget frames are often used as copy-cats, it is not surprising that some of the components believe that the same front derailleur and crankset would also be suitable for bikes costing thousands of pounds. The Campagnolo 11-speed double-butted groupset, for example, has superior comfort, performance and reliability yet at much the same cost as any of the good-quality synthetic groupsets.

Whether you decide to shift from XR brakes or hydraulic disc brakes, the Campagnolo 11-speed groupset has everything you need to get you to the front of the pack.

What is further surprising is that the front derailleur uses the Campagnolo brand-new system-IC, that provides excellent stiffness, a noisy shifting action, and nearly silent operation. The shifting is super-smooth and equally accurate. The Campag giant is always ready for the XR disc or the hydraulic disc.
