After the enthusiastic testimony of the cyclists that are using it, after having been the object of an important medical and scientific research, SMP multiplies the range to give each cyclist the model most suitable to his physical structure and to the type of use.

The original beak of the saddle nose, designed to supply a flat base for efforts when sitting for long climbs that have to be faced and as a help in downhill slopes, offering greater thigh control of the bicycle.

The central channel of the saddle is an uncommon characteristic because of its dimensions: almost a whole hand can be put in there and this prevents crushing of the anus, prostate, venae pudendae, deep dorsal vein and artery of the penis, scrotum and testicles in men, and the labia majora and minora and the clitoris, in women.

The length of the bars makes installation particularly easy on practically any combination of frame/saddle pillar.

Selle Smp Lite 209 Saddle Review:

Selle Smp Lite 209 saddles have been helping me gain an extra 15 minutes in bed every morning. No, I’m serious! I’ve been having problems with numbness and tingling of the genitals for over 10 years now, and in the last 5 years it has gradually become intense and almost unbearable at times, making every day activities a trial. Although I’ve seen various doctors, including a neurologist, and had various tests including MRIs with contrast, the cause of the problems remains unknown. And with no medical cause, it’s hard to get the right kind of help on this issue.

I was quite skeptical about the Selle SMP since I’ve tried almost everything else also, but I felt that the problem in my buttocks was not pressure on the nerves, which this would have failed to help, so I tried it out. The Selle SMP has been a revelation and a relief. Despite only using it for a few weeks now, I already prefer it to each of the other saddles I was previously using, and I suffer no numbness or tingling since switching to the Selle Smp. I wear padded cycling shorts to lessen chafe from the seat, and although the saddle is wider than my previous saddles, there’s no problem in the scheme of things.

So while I can’t give advice about its longterm functionality, I can say that I am very satisfied with it after a few weeks of careful use and I feel like it’s really helping me be able to kick ass on my bike again!

Couple of things I noticed:

The seat includes a skewer tightener to prevent the seat from collapsing when not being used, something which could get annoying if the Velcro fastener is not enough to hold the seat when you cycle. I don’t use this feature as I don’t leave my bikes outside, but your mileage may vary.

If you’re experienced with using saddle surgery shop or hack saws, and the traditional method of cutting a saddle, the cutting line will not leave much to the imagination. While it’s not very complicated, I encourage you to find someone who knows what they’re doing to avoid risk of ruining a good saddle. It’s possible to cross the line and cut the padding, but if you’re careful and precise enough, this is not an issue.

Also, please note that the Velcro feature of the Selle SMP includes only half of the Velcro which is included in the saddle, so you’ll have to use your own Velcro or sew it on to finish your saddle. While this is not too difficult, it could be an annoyance to have to do it.

This saddle is the best I have ever used over 30 years. The shape of the nose is great for those like me that like to sit on the nose, it has a slight downward tilt, no bulge under the sit bones and there is a small cut in the centre, great for those who are heavy and have to straddle their bike.

Numerous versions of prostate surgery left me unable to wear my regular saddle, and almost ready for an early ‘retirement’. This saddle is a revelation – it really is comfortable, in everyday use and on long rides. I’m very happy with it and am considering buying another one.

I’ve been using this seat ever since I cut it to make it fit my bike. I’ve tried all sorts of saddles over the years and can honestly say that this has been the best for me.

Thanks Nadiya! Australia

One night I woke up and the pain was so much I went straight to see a urologist. He was very clear: the pain was caused by sitting all day on a conventional saddle. He explained to me that this is caused by the nerves not being able to breathe properly, due to pressure. It was really good to know and prove it was not just a mental problem. When I started my search for the ideal saddle, I dismissed the Selle SMP straight away because their mission is to help cure prostate problems. I had a bit of a shock when I noticed that there is a medical study on the Selle SMP that shows that in the test 100% of the users that suffered from prostate problems, got better… obviously!
