"In life, as in the mountains, there is no other option than the summit." A phrase cherished by blind mountaineer Rafa Jaime and professional guide Omar Álvarez. Legendary athletes in their own right, these two founded the Cordada Obscuras (Dark Rope) Project, whose performance and achievements have been marked by resilience, teamwork and the determination to overcome adversity.

On June 29, 2021 they added another notch to their belt by becoming the first Ibero-American rope with a blind member to summit Mount Denali at 20,310ft (6,194m).
